Busy Hands, Giving Hearts:
The ladies in the knitting ministry keep their hands busy making prayer shawls, baby items, children's sweaters and caps for service members. Our hearts are giving, as all the projects made are donated to several different places.
The 'Knit Chics' (self titled name for the ladies in the group), began by making prayer shawls for Pastor Jeff Goodman and now, Pastor Len Calhoun to give to those who are recuperating from surgery, undergoing treatment or grieving the death of a family member. The prayer shawl is a reminder that God loves us and that prayers are surrounding the recipient.
We also make sweaters for the Guidepost program; "Knit for kids". Preemie caps and baby blankets go to the local, Women's and Babies hospital.
We have been blessed with the donation of beautiful yarn as well as knitting needles and crochet hooks.
All are welcomed to join us. Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30PM in
the fellowship center lobby.
